Privacy Policy

AI Digest (aidigest.com.au) is committed to protecting your personal information. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and how we look after it — in plain language, in line with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

01

About this policy

This Privacy Policy applies to all personal information collected through the AI Digest website, newsletter and contact forms. By using our site or subscribing to our newsletter, you agree to the practices described here.

If you have questions about this policy, contact us at admin@aidigest.com.au before using the site.

02

Information we collect

We collect only what we need to operate the site and deliver our newsletter.

Information you give us directly: your email address when you subscribe to the AI Digest newsletter; your name and email address when you submit our contact form; and any message content you include.

Information collected automatically: your IP address, browser type, operating system, pages visited, time on site, and referring URL. This data is collected in aggregate and used to improve the site. We do not use it to identify you individually.

We do not collect sensitive information (as defined under the Privacy Act) and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 16.

03

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to: send you the AI Digest newsletter and any other communications you have subscribed to; respond to enquiries submitted via our contact form; understand how the site is being used and improve it; and comply with our legal obligations.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.

04

Emails and newsletters

When you subscribe to the AI Digest newsletter, you give us your consent to send you regular editorial updates by email. Every email we send includes a clearly visible unsubscribe link. You can also withdraw consent at any time by emailing admin@aidigest.com.au.

We comply with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth) and will not send unsolicited commercial electronic messages. We will remove you from our mailing list promptly upon request.

05

Cookies and analytics

Our website uses cookies — small text files stored on your device — to help the site function correctly and to understand how visitors use it. Some cookies are essential for the site to work; others are used for analytics purposes only.

We use analytics software that may collect your IP address and browsing behaviour in aggregated, anonymised form. We use this data to improve the site and our content — not to identify you individually.

You can disable or delete cookies via your browser settings at any time. If you disable all cookies, some parts of the site may not work as expected.

06

Sharing your information

We use a small number of trusted third-party services to operate the site and deliver the newsletter. These may include email delivery platforms, website hosting and infrastructure providers, and analytics services. These providers access your information only to the extent needed to deliver their services to us, and are subject to their own privacy policies and applicable law.

We may also disclose your information where required to do so by law, court order, or regulatory authority.

We will not share your personal information with any other third party without your consent.

07

Storing and protecting your data

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect the personal information we hold from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Our site is served over HTTPS and access to subscriber data is restricted to authorised personnel.

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes set out in this policy, or as required by law. When we no longer need your information, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it securely.

If we become aware of a data breach that is likely to result in serious harm to you, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) as required under the Notifiable Data Breaches (NDB) scheme.

08

Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to: request access to the personal information we hold about you; ask us to correct information that is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete; ask us to delete your information, subject to any legal obligations we have to retain it; and withdraw consent to receive marketing emails at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at admin@aidigest.com.au. We will respond within 30 days. In some cases we may need to verify your identity before processing your request.

09

Contact and complaints

If you have a question or concern about how we handle your personal information, please contact us at admin@aidigest.com.au. We take privacy concerns seriously and will respond within a reasonable time.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or by calling 1300 363 992.
